During the Meiji era, in a small village deep in the mountains, Matsu nearly gets devoured by a specter, but is saved by Makami, who is part man, part wolf. Despite his ferocious appearance, he's kind and a true gentleman, and she falls in love with him. When blood spills, the animal in him comes out, but he turns his fangs on himself rather than attacking Matsu.
